Road America 2017

For those of you who know me, getting out to Road America for the summer racing season has been a routine for the last few years.  For 2017, things are a little different.  Even though I will still be getting to the track for the races, I will be starting a new project.  A project that will document the happenings, the crowd and my experience at the track.  Keep an eye open for me at the racetrack and say HI if you see me.  I am usually hanging around Turn 5, 6, 7 where the action is.  I love to meet new people and talk about racing or camera gear or the weather for that matter.

The Races

I will be attending as many of the races that I can at Road America this season and I hope that you will join me as well.  Each day the track comes alive with die hard race fans, the best track food in America and some of the fastest, loudest racing that you can hope for.  HERE IS A LIST OF EVENTS I WILL BE ATTENDING

Showcasing the races from my vantage point and with photo credentials will not be my primary focus, however.  That will be 2nd to my focusing, interacting and engaging with the crowds that arrive at the beautiful 640-acre facility all summer long!

The Fans

What the hell would racing be like if there wasn't a fan in the stand to cheer you on?  Fans are great!  They are die hard, they spend hard earned money and they do it for the thrill of the race.  Road America caters to the fans, just like most venues, and in 2017 there are plenty of reasons to find yourself at the National Park of Speed!

If you are a race fan and love to get up to the fence, the odds are pretty good that you are going to see me, with my camera gear pointing your direction to take a photo of your excitement at the races!

Follow along on my Twitter account, find me on Instagram or take a minute and view my race day diary on YouTube.

The Photos

The end result of my trips to Road America are clearly what you are coming here for.  The photos of all the things that make for a great race season are located here and shared throughout my social media channels.

If you see a photo of yourself on the track and would like a copy, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I am always happy to help out the racers on the track.  I can also be hired as a dedicated track photographer if you are interested in that.

My day at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin during the 2017 MotoAmerica Dunlop Championship. One of my most favorite places to be in the summer months is Road America. The 4+ mile road course is home to some of the best track food in America and of course, some really awesome racing.
